I love Paullina Simons' ability to make me connect with the characters. Tatiana and Alexander's relationship was simply heartbreaking. I rarely reread books but I'm going to put this series back on my TBR list.Caffeinated Wekahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07235662962500264686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2200157117328713967.post-52746488816000368772012-11-05T22:12:05.726-08:002012-11-05T22:12:05.726-08:00Hey Cafe Chick!
I didn't say it in the review...Hey Cafe Chick!

I didn't say it in the review but I adored books 1 and 2 in this series and loathed book 3 The Summer Garden, which took the trilogy from beautiful, epic, sweeping romantic drama in Russia during WWII to everyday dreariness beating the happiness out of the main protagonists' lives in America. I actually wish I'd never read it, it spoilt the story that much for me.

To save you googling;

Book 1 is The Bronze Horseman.
Book 2 is The Bridge to Holy Cross also known as Tatiana and Alexander.
Book 3 is The Summer Garden

There's also a spin off called Tatiana's Table: Tatiana and Alexander's Life Of Food And Love which features recipes mentioned in the stories and other popular foods from the era it is set, both American and Russian.wellreadkittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06445454579521412896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2200157117328713967.post-15942609430263846672012-11-05T18:57:23.235-08:002012-11-05T18:57:23.235-08:00I am pretty sure I have read two out of three book...I am pretty sure I have read two out of three books in this series and they were out of order at the time (ie, I read one and didn't realise it was part of a series). If I recall correctly, one of the books had an alternative title and I can't for the life of me work out which ones I've read but remember them being extremely emotional journeys for me as a reader. I am keen to read the prequels and might need to reread the original series at some stage, too.Caffeinated Wekahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07235662962500264686noreply@blogger.com
