My beloved oldest furchild Paddy (left) has had some behavioural issues in the past - namely jealousy.
When my boyfriend (now partner) and I first started getting serious, Paddy retaliated to this usurper of his mantel as Number 1 in my life by spraying on my boyfriends side of the bed and in the places my boyfriend would sit on furniture. This disgusting behaviour lasted 6 torturous months and then magically stopped (I wonder if he actually understood my threat to sellotape his tape to his butt so he couldn't spray any more?) and all has been well for the last 2 years.
That is, until last week.
His naughty behaviour has returned with a vengeance.
The vet's diagnosis is basically extreme jealousy of everyone in my life human or furry (we have 2 other cats) taking up what he thinks of as solely his possession - aka me.
And In a move I think was clearly calculated to inflict maximum hurt to me, he sprayed on my "To Be Read" bookcase and books.
Thankfully only one book seems to have been damaged - "Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography" by Andrew Morton.
I would like to give Paddy the benefit of the doubt and think he was trying to steer me away a waste of good reading time as I have heard some pretty unpleasant things about that particular book but alas, he followed it up by biting me as I roared expletives and chased him out the door.
Anyone know how to get the smell of cat pee out of your beloved books??
