Yes, my reading mojo, that precious and life affirming gift, has deserted me of late and I am immensely sad.
It was last seen about three weeks ago when I finished "Thereby Hangs A Tail" by Spencer Quinn. Possibly I left it between the pages of that highly entertaining and original novel - which I have since leant to my Mum in Palmerston North. Bit of a drive to retrieve should it be hiding itself down there.
But I think it is more likely lurking somewhere around Hamilton as I have had very brief glimpses of it, in the form of reading junior fiction books. I am discovering a new found enjoyment for novels aimed at a younger audience; my job as a junior advocate at the library means I am constantly exposed to great stories aimed at under 12s and I have been delighted with what I read(highlight so far: Friends Snake and Lizard by Joy Cowley and Gavin Bishop).
So tonight, armed with a pile of books ranging in genre, length and topic I hope to lure my long lost little buddy out of hiding and bury myself in the wonderment that is a good book.

Aww, I can sympathise. I find that, to my complete and utter horror, I just don't have the energy or concentration for reading lately and it really worries me. I read three pages of The Brightest Star in the Sky; it's now taking up a substantial amount of real estate on my bedside cabinet's TBR pile. I'm halfway through A Clockwork Orange, which probably wasn't such a good idea given my recent reading status and I'm finding it hard to decipher the language when I'm tired, let alone deal with the challenging content.
