Kilimanjaro or Everest?

Well its no secret that I Lurve books with a passion. I almost never leave the house without taking a book with me, just in case the opportunity arises to snatch a few minutes of reading (this necessitates buying lots of large handbags - another of my passions - to tuck them into).

As some of you will know, I have a Kilimanjaro-esk pile of books on my bedside table impatiently waiting to be consumed. They also provide a good dust collection depot though invariably once a week they tumble off the table, with or without assistance from one of my cats Confused I thought as an interesting distraction from the dishes that really need doing, I would chronicle my ever growing book bundle and if you have already read any of them, please let me know your thoughts!

So without further ado...

These first three are the birthday present books my beloved gave to me:

1. We Need To Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver (actually I am reading, and loving, this one at the moment)
2. Two Lives - Vikrim Seth
3. The House of Peine - Sarah Kate Lynch

And the rest, in no particular order are:

4. Special Topics in Calamity Physics - Marisha Pessl
5. Between a Rock and a Hard Place - Aron Ralston
6. My Friend Leonard - James Frey
7. Any Human Heart - William Boyd
8. Brothers in Arms - Peter Duffy
9. The Girls - Lori Lansens
10. First Casualty - Ben Elton
11. The Lieutenant's Lover - Harry Bingham
12. The Ship of Brides - Jojo Moyes
13. No! I Dont Want to Join a Bookclub - Virginia Ironside
14. Embers of Heaven - Alma Alexander
15. The Rice Mother - Rani Manicka
16. Suzanne's Letters for Nicholas - James Patterson
17. Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus - John Gray
18. Sam's Letters to Jennifer - James Patterson
19. Moving Mountains - Claire Bertschinger
20. Queen of Swords - Sara Donati
21. Nights of Rain and Stars - Maeve Binchy
22. A Suitable Boy - Vikrim Seth
23. How to be Good - Nick Hornby
24. The Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver
25. Ya-Yas in Bloom - Rebecca Wells
26. Snow Falling on Cedars - David Guterson
27. Small Island - Andrea Levy
28. Mrs Kimble - Jennifer Haigh
29. The Map of Love - Ahdaf Soueif
30. The Weight of Water - Anita Shreve
31. The Constant Gardner - John Le Carre
32. The Meaning of Night - Michael Cox
33. What Colour is my Parachute - Richard N Bolles

Oh dear. It appears without meaning to, I have cracked the 30 book mark. Possibly not so much a Kilimanjaro-esk pile as an Everest one Embarrased

Time for bed now...and some reading!
